Blue Train (LIMITED EDITION)
Limited edition 180-gram blue vinyl with black swirls! Only 1000 available for the world.
Blue Train can easily be considered in and among the most important and influential entries not only of John Coltrane's career, but of the entire genre of jazz music as well. On this album, Coltrane reinvents himself as a multifaceted interpreter of both hard bop as well as sensitive balladry -- touching upon all forms in between. Released on Blue Note in 1957, Blue Train is the only album Coltrane recorded for Blue Note as a leader (although he was never formally signed to the label). Featured on the album are Coltrane on tenor sax, Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Kenny Drew on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums. It was recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey.
