Limited vinyl LP pressing. 2016 release from Lexington, KY's James Friley follows a string of releases on Moshi Moshi, Ateleir Ciseaux, Burger, Night People and Hop Hop. Friley's most ambitious and wide ranging recording yet, Idiot Glee is a piano heavy album produced by songwriter Stephen Trask (Hedwig & The Angry Inch), with Friley playing nearly all of the instrumentation himself. The LP is packed with undeniable grooves, peppered with synthesizers and instrumental work in the vein of Eno or Harmonia, and combined with Friley's songwriting influences of John Cale, Nilsson, Brian Wilson, Fleetwood Mac and many others. Artwork by Robert Beatty (Tame Impala).
