Bud Powells Moods (Verve Vault Series) LP
Limited to 4 per customer.
On Bud Powell’s Moods, the piano speaks in two voices: the propulsive brilliance of a trio and the intimacy of solo performance. Recorded in New York in 1950 and 1951, the album brings together Powell with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Buddy Rich on “Tea for Two” and “Hallelujah,” alongside eight unaccompanied selections. Across shifting moods and textures, Powell remains unmistakably himself—inventive, intense, and lyrical.
The Verve Vault series is all-analog, cut from the original master tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
