Fronted by legendary rocker Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters are widely considered to be one of the greatest bands of the 20th and 21st centuries. Formed in the 1990s, Foo Fighters was initially simply a creative outlet for Grohl after the breakup of his first band, Nirvana. After Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s death, Grohl made the decision to switch roles from drummer to frontman. The result was Foo Fighters’ self-titled debut in 1995, which cemented the band in rock history. However, this album only featured Grohl as an official member –other members didn’t officially join the group until 1997, when The Color And The Shape was released.
