Stanley Turrentine’s stellar 1964 album In Memory Of traversed swinging hard bop, beautiful balladry & African rhythms with the saxophonist fronting a tremendous sextet with Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Herbie Hancock on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass & Otis “Candy” Finch on drums. This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
