KISS

Kiss formed in New York City in 1973. Founding members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley were determined to revolutionize the rock genre with their signature blend of heavy metal, shock rock, and glam. The band quickly became known for their highly theatrical on-stage antics, with each member donning face paint and spike-covered outfits for every performance in their early years. Each of the musicians in the group also went by a menacing nickname for dramatic effect – Simmons was “The Demon,” Stanley was “The Starchild,” Frehley was “The Spaceman,” and Criss was “The Catman.”
