Organist Big John Patton was deep in a groove by the time he recorded his 7th Blue Note album That Certain Feeling in March 1968 with Junior Cook on tenor saxophone, Jimmy Ponder on guitar, and Clifford Jarvis on drums. The album put an emphasis on Patton’s writing with originals that explored new textures and forms from deep pocket funk to modal vamps. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
