Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14, H. 48
The era of Seiji Ozawa as principal conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra spanned an impressive 29 years - a period of unparalleled musical excellence. Even before officially taking office, Ozawa and his orchestra created a multi-faceted recording of Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique on Deutsche Grammophon that was praised by the New York Times as particularly "light and mercurial."
Released on 180g vinyl records and in a deluxe gatefold edition with original covers and lyrics, the copies of this series are limited and numbered. They are accompanied by additional photos and facsimiles of the recording logs and tape boxes, plus an article, which explains the exact technical background.
