Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the best-loved Southern rock groups of all time. The band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964, and they were originally called My Backyard. However, they quickly swapped for their quirkier, more memorable moniker. The band has received worldwide renown and acclaim for its distinct blend of rock n’ roll, blues, and hard rock. Rolling Stone even listed Lynyrd Skynyrd as one of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
