Nina Simone was one of the most successful jazz and soul musicians of the 20th century. A prolific songwriter, exceptional vocalist, and highly skilled pianist, Simone recorded over 40 albums during the first half of her career. Her first record, Little Girl Blue, features “My Baby Just Cares for Me,” a song originally written by Walter Donaldson and Gus Kahn. Simone’s version of the song became a top 10 hit across the Atlantic several decades after it was initially released. A unique reimagined version of Nina’s debut album, Little Girl Blue Remixed, is available as part of the SOV Nina Simone record collection, featuring 14 remixes of songs from the original LP by numerous DJs.
